Description	:	Son of J.J. & Emily Carson Massey. His first wife was Pearl Alexander Massey, who passed away in 1935. Together they were the parents of Claude E. Massey and Coley L. Massey, and a daughter, Ruth Massey Hopkins, who died almost 18 months before Charlie's passing. His second wife was Martha Evatt Massey (later Gibson and Boren), to whom he was married at the time of his death. Together they were the parents of Jimmie Charles Massey. Massey, and a daughter, Ruth Massey Hopkins, who died almost 18 months before Charlie's passing. His second wife was Martha Evatt Massey (later Gibson and Boren), to whom he was married at the time of his death. Together they were the parents of Jimmie Charles Massey. His obituary indicated he was a native of Anderson County and had lived most of his life in Liberty. In addition to his wife and three sons, he was survived by 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Maud Watkins, Mrs. Lizzie Gillespie, and Mrs. Ethel McAlister. Funeral services: Saturday, September 22, 1945, Eastside Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Robert Wheeler, Rev. Earle Sargent, and Rev. W.H. Ayers. Burial: West View Cemetery Pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. Massey: Homer Watkins, Roy Watkins, John Watkins, Henry Gillespie, Willie Gillespie, and Furman McAlister. As was still the custom of the day, the body was returned to the residence for visitation until the time of the funeral. Based on the two Massey infants buried in this plot, it is believed that the two larger bases missing the upright markers are the graves of Charlie & Pearl Alexander Massey.
