Description	:	Charles J. "Charlie" Young, 81, of Speedway died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, in Lakeview Manor Nursing Facility of Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for several years. Born July 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Ethel Stinson Young and a 1944 graduate of Wolcott High School. His marriage was to Rosa Mae James on June 1, 1947, in Reynolds. He enjoyed watching his daughter play basketball, softball and tennis for Butler University and the Indianapolis 500 Race and was a "yellow shirt" up in the suites over turn two. An Army veteran, he was discharged in 1947. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Jenny Young of Speedway; two sisters, Doris Spainhower of Osceola, and Jane Young (husband: Ronald) of Monticello; and a brother, Richard "Zeke" Young (wife: Diane) of Lafayette.
