Description	:	One of the best known family names in the San Joaquin Valley, was that of Kreyenhagen, and Charles, an old-time resident of Hanford, was a worthy representative of that noted family, which had been so closely identified with the growth and development of the Valley. Charles was born near Los Banos, in Merced County, on January 14, 1867, the son of Gustav and Julia (Hering) Kreyenhagen, both of whom were born in Hanover, Germany and emigrated to the United States, settling first in St. Louis and later moving to San Francisco. Ultimately they settled in Los Banos, where the elder Kreyenhagen became a prominent stock and sheep man. About 1875 the family moved to a property nine miles east of Coalinga, one of the sons, Emil, having located in that locality a short time previously. In the 1880's the Kreyenhagens began acquiring large quantities of land in the Coalinga district on which Charles and his brothers ran cattle. On July 14, 1916, their business was incorporated under the name, Kreyenhagen, Inc. Although Charles had important interests in Fresno County, he maintained a home in Hanford, and also was the owner of a ranch near Lemoore with his brother Adolph. On June 2, 1889, Miss Rosa Ginrich and Charles were married. They had a son, Carl E., who resided in Coalinga and was identified with the family interests there. Rosa passed away in 1939.
