Description	:	Chas. Earnest Dies Following A Bad Fall — Charles L. Earnest who resided at 214 Plymouth St. S. W. in Le Mars, passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital on June 9, 1957. Mr. Earnest suffered a brain injury in a fall down the basement steps of his home on Wednesday evening (story in last Thursday's Globe-Post). He did not regain consciousness. Earnest Dies Following A Bad Fall — Charles L. Earnest who resided at 214 Plymouth St. S. W. in Le Mars, passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital on June 9, 1957. Mr. Earnest suffered a brain injury in a fall down the basement steps of his home on Wednesday evening (story in last Thursday's Globe-Post). He did not regain consciousness. Mr. Earnest was born April 24, 1885 near Remsen. He married Theresa Wiltgen on February 25, 1908 at Alton. The deceased had been a barber for 48 years. He barbered at Alton for several years before coming to Le Mars where he operated the Earnest Brothers barber shop for 45 years. He retired three years ago. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 at St. James Catholic church with Rev. Father L. J. LaVele officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery In Le Mars under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. H. J. Mead of Aurora, Illinois and Miss Patricia Earnest who made her home with her father; a son, Harold T. Earnest of Wilmington, Delaware and five grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Galles and Mrs. George Kramer of Remsen and Mrs. Theodore Treinen and Mrs. Frank Hewicker of Marcus also survive. Mr. Earnest was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa and one son, Eugene; two brothers, John and Fred and a sister, Mrs. Lean Mesknick. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home on Monday evening. Le Mars Globe-Post, June 10, 1957
