Description	:	NOLEN, Charles Lindberg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Charlie was born October 3, 1927 in Clintwood, Va., to Silas Lee Nolen and Lula Alice Fletcher. He served in the U.S. Army 801st Med Air Evac Squad from 1945 to 1948. He went to work for Colonial Chevrolet in Virginia Beach, Va., then to Dominion Chevrolet in Richmond, Va., and retired in 1993. Charlie was born October 3, 1927 in Clintwood, Va., to Silas Lee Nolen and Lula Alice Fletcher. He served in the U.S. Army 801st Med Air Evac Squad from 1945 to 1948. He went to work for Colonial Chevrolet in Virginia Beach, Va., then to Dominion Chevrolet in Richmond, Va., and retired in 1993. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Urtie Rebecca, whom he married August 10, 1974. He is also survived by one brother, Rufus Nolen; two sons, Lenny Nolen and Danny Nolen; four daughters, Kathy Ayers, Teresa Williams, Mary Nolen-Hall and Janet Jones; one stepson, Warren Winner; two stepdaughters, Alice Farley and Becky Mills; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Duke Jordan. "Papaw" will always be remembered for his kindness, gentleness and servant's heart. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ more than life itself and anxiously awaited the day he could be with Jesus forever. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Va. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 10. at Staples Mill Road Baptist Church, 10101 Staples Mill Road, Glen Allen, Va., with burial following at Powhatan Community Cemetery Powhatan, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia or to the West End Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 11144, Richmond, Va. 23230-3502.
