Charles Milo Kimber was born Sept. 6, 1925, to Elmer and Alice(Bolson) Kimber in Winneshiek County, Iowa. Charles "Chuck" grew up in theBurr Oak area, graduating from Canton High School in 1939. Charles Milo Kimber was born Sept. 6, 1925, to Elmer and Alice(Bolson) Kimber in Winneshiek County, Iowa. Charles "Chuck" grew up in theBurr Oak area, graduating from Canton High School in 1939. Chuck married Alice Muchow Dec. 22, 1954. They raised six children together, sharingtheir values and love of the land, fishing and importance of the simplethings in life. If it could be fixed, Chuck would find a way; nothing waswasted. Chuck and Alice farmed together near Burr Oak until retiring,eventually moving to Canton. He continued to fish and "putter"as long as his health would permit, preferring to be outside rather than in. Many evenings and family gatherings included playing cards and laughing withfamily and friends. He spent hours reading, watching PBS and listening toNASCAR on the radio. Chuck is survived by his wife, Alice; and children, Debra Douglas, Flower Mound, Texas, Barb (Brad) Kerns, Canton, Loren Kimber, Waukon, Iowa, Steve (Jean) Kimber, Cresco, Iowa, Al Kimber, Wichita, Kan., and Linda Kimber, Rochester; grandchildren, Chris, Denton, Texas, Scott, Lewisville, Texas, Jennifer (Nate) Ashwill, Flower Mound, Texas, Cassie (Justin) Olson, and Jordan(Katie) Kerns, Preston, Marie (Stan Flack) Kimber, Waukon, Iowa, Kristy Kimber, Waukon, Iowa, Valarie Kimber, Sunnyvale, Calif., Lori Kimber, Waukon, Iowa; Nicole Kimber, Cresco, Iowa, Ryan Kimber (Alyssa Botkin), Ames, Iowa, Evan Kimber, Cresco, Iowa, Amanda Kimber (Travis Nesburg), Cresco, Iowa, Matthew Kimber and Emily Kimber, Wichita, Kan.; as well as 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and only brother, Irvin Kimber. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Burr OakLutheran Church in Burr Oak, Iowa, with the Rev. Matt Larson officiating.Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour priorto services at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mengis FuneralHome, 301 N.
