Description	:	The Creighton News 9 Feb 1956 Rites Conducted for Charley Montgomery Charles Montgomery, son of Harvey and Cora Montgomery, was born Apr. 18, 1896 on a farm in Logan Township and passed away at a Norfolk hospital Jan. 29 at the age of 59. He had been ill about six months. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Burkhardt on Nov. 6, 1917. They moved to a farm in Walnut Grove Township where he lived the remainder of his life, except for the last few years when he made his home with his two sons and a daughter. Read More	The Creighton News 9 Feb 1956 Rites Conducted for Charley Montgomery Charles Montgomery, son of Harvey and Cora Montgomery, was born Apr. 18, 1896 on a farm in Logan Township and passed away at a Norfolk hospital Jan. 29 at the age of 59. He had been ill about six months. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Burkhardt on Nov. 6, 1917. They moved to a farm in Walnut Grove Township where he lived the remainder of his life, except for the last few years when he made his home with his two sons and a daughter. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery. His wife and two sons, Wilbur and Charles Jr., preceded him in death. During 1930 Mr. Montgomery accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and was baptized in the Venus church. He is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Cecil Moser, and Francis and Bernard Montgomery, all of Orchard; Two brothers, Ray Montgomery of Orhcard and Lee Montgomery of California; one sister Mrs. Orval Butterfield of Rushville, and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Creighton on Feb. 1 with the Rev. H. F. Beebe officiating. Burial was in Enterprise cemetery west of Creighton. Pallbearers were Dale Mitteis, Earl Woodworth, Tom Sladek, Archie Moser, George Jeffery and Harold Tyler. Ladies in charge of flowers were Mrs. Arden Laursen, Mrs Max LeMasters and Mrs. Fritz Rokahr Jr.
