Description	:	MAYODAN — Mr. Charles O. Farris Jr., 82, of 304 S. 6th Ave., died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Jessup officiating. He was a native of Rockinham County and the son of the late Charles O. Farris Sr. and Ellen Watson Farris. Mr. Farris was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and was retired from Sears Roebuck and Company with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Madison... Read More	MAYODAN — Mr. Charles O. Farris Jr., 82, of 304 S. 6th Ave., died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Jessup officiating. He was a native of Rockinham County and the son of the late Charles O. Farris Sr. and Ellen Watson Farris. Mr. Farris was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and was retired from Sears Roebuck and Company with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Madison Moose Lodge and the Mayodan VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Goldie Martin, Garnet Gallimore and Frankie Biggs. He is survived by his wife, Addie Mae Tolbert Farris; two daughters, Debbie Kaiser and her husband, Richard of Hollywood, Fla. and Charlotte Collins and her husband, James of Madison; one sister, Ganova Ligon of Mayodan; two grandchildren, Penny Collins and Correy Kaiser; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Kaiser. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ray Funeral Home in Madison and at other times at the residence. The family would like to express their appreciation the doctors and nurses on the 2nd floor of Morehead Memorial Hospital for their special care. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4193, Eden, NC 27289 or to the American Heart Association, 202 Centre Port Dr., Greensboro, NC 27409. Ray Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of the arrangements.
