Charles Orin Olson was born July 30, 1930, in Great Falls and was raised in Castner Falls. He attended grade school at the small country school at Castner Falls and graduated from high school in Cascade in 1948. Read More	CASCADE - Charles Orin "Ole" Olson, 81, of Cascade, died of a brain hemorrhage Monday, April 30, in a local hospital. Charles Orin Olson was born July 30, 1930, in Great Falls and was raised in Castner Falls. He attended grade school at the small country school at Castner Falls and graduated from high school in Cascade in 1948. Because there were no buses, Orin drove to school with his neighborhood friends. At age 16, Orin lost his father and continued to run his mother's farm and turned it into the extremely successful farm it is today. He was also a rancher, raising Black Angus cattle. He loved every aspect of the farm and ranch life. In his 20s, Orin enlisted in the Montana Air National Guard and retired as a master sergeant. Orin married Lois Robinson in 1951. When he was newly married, Orin worked during the winter at Leigland Construction, working on Great Falls landmarks, including Beckmans. After leaving Leigland Construction to be closer to his farm and ranch, he started his own auto body shop, and worked winters buying, fixing and selling vehicles while continuing to build his farm and ranch. Orin was a director of the First Bank of Lincoln for more than 35 years. He was a past director of Prairie Mountain Bank. He was past Worshipful Master of Cascade Meridian Lodge #105. He was a member of York Rite and Scottish Rite, the Algeria Shrine Temple, where he was a jester, in Helena and the Algeria Motosikl Tauf Unit. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #214 in Great Falls, the Great Falls Corvette Club, the Skunkwagon Car Club and the Great Falls History Museum. Orin was a collector of cars, old wrenches, signs and antiques; he had a huge Cadillac, Corvette and muscle car collection. His wrench and sign collection is state of the art. Orin truly enjoyed all of his cars and many treasures. He loved going to auctions, swap meets and antique stores and cherishing his purchases. During the winters, Orin and Lois traveled in their beautiful motor home to the South and various other parts of the country. He loved NASCAR and especially enjoyed traveling to see the Daytona 500. Orin was a wonderful loving kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He truly loved his family, making sure they were taken care of no matter their wants or needs. He will be missed but will live in our hearts every day. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, daughter, former daughter-in-law, two sons, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
