Description	:	A pioneer and a builder in the life of the Chelan community, Charles Rubin, 75, died Sunday in a Wenatchee hospital. Funeral rites were read Wednesday. Charles Rubin was born on December 29, 1867, and came to America alone when he was 17 years of age. He landed in New York City and soon became interested in mining and worked in many places over the states and in Mexico. Finally, in 1888, he settled in Carbonda, Wa., where he met Maria Anzelina. Charles Rubin was born on December 29, 1867, and came to America alone when he was 17 years of age. He landed in New York City and soon became interested in mining and worked in many places over the states and in Mexico. Finally, in 1888, he settled in Carbonda, Wa., where he met Maria Anzelina. They were married in Seattle on March 30, 1895. He had homesteaded 160 acres above Lake Chelan on the south shore in 1892 and that is where he brought his bride. Nine children were born to them, and all are living. Surviving relatives are the widow, Maria, and children; Ollie Tuttle, Alma Tuttle, Mario Rubin, Carlo Rubin and Maxnina Buckholdt, all of Chelan; Bianca Davis of Elliston, Montana; Frank Rubin of Brewster; Lt. Dean Rubin of Fort Harrison, Montana; Henrietta Churchill of Poulsbo, Wa; 8 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were here for the services.
