Description	:	Pvt Co H 4 Regt NH Inf Civil War C P Brigham, a late resident of Aurora died at McCool Junction on May 26th, of the result of his old army complaint. Arrangements had been made to bury him at Lushton under charge of the Post there but after the arrival of W M Lakin he stated to the family that it was a request of deceased to be buried at Richland in Hamilton county on the Lakin family lot by the side of Francis Lakin. Arrangements had been made to bury him at Lushton under charge of the Post there but after the arrival of W M Lakin he stated to the family that it was a request of deceased to be buried at Richland in Hamilton county on the Lakin family lot by the side of Francis Lakin. The previous arrangements were therefore changed and the body was brought to Aurora and placed in charge of Post No. 44. The funeral was preached by Rev C H Polheimus, from a text chosen by the deceased, the 4th verse of the XXIII Psalm "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for Thou art with me. Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." The deceased had also requested that the army badge of his regiment and company be pinned on his coat, and that his large flag be wrapped about the coffin and buried in the grave with him. Both were complied with. Deceased was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and at the time of his death was 64 years, 4 months, and 16 days old. He came to Crete, Nebraska, 19 years ago, and to Hamilton county five years later. He married in March 1883, Miss Rhoda Ann, daughter of Wm Lakin, of this county.
