Description	:	Charles Paul "Chic" Johnson was born to his loving parents Charles and Susan Josephine (McCready) Johnson on Thursday April 26, 1894 at Dodge County Nebraska. My research found no information on Chic's childhood or schooling. Chic served in the US Army in World War I. Chic was united in marriage to Merle Chesley on Monday November 7, 1921 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County Iowa. Read More	Charles Paul "Chic" Johnson was born to his loving parents Charles and Susan Josephine (McCready) Johnson on Thursday April 26, 1894 at Dodge County Nebraska. My research found no information on Chic's childhood or schooling. Chic served in the US Army in World War I. Chic was united in marriage to Merle Chesley on Monday November 7, 1921 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County Iowa. The couple were blessed with a son and a daughter over the years of their marriage. Chic was employed pumping gravel at Lux Sand and Gravel. Chic also was employed at the former Safeway Mobile Home Plant. After retiring Chic was employed part time at the Blevins Popcorn Company. In 1983 Chic and his wife Merle were honored with the 'Loving Cup" as the longest married couple at an Old Settlers community worship service. Chic was a fifty five year member of the World War I Barracks of Fremont, Dodge County and he belonged to the American Legion Post of Morse Bluff, Saunders County. Chic was a lifetime resident of the North Bend, Dodge County Nebraska area. Sadly Chic passed at Fremont, Dodge County Hospital on Wednesday January 11, 1984 at the age of 89 years, 8 months, 16 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 32,766 days. Chic's funeral services were held at Moser Memorial Chapel at North Bend with Rev. J. Graydon Wilson and Rev. Gary Main officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. James Arneal. Military graveside services were conducted by the Morse Bluff American Legion Post and North Bend VFW Post. Chic was interred in the Woodland Cemetery of North Bend. Chic's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Chic by Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed.
