Charles "Bud" Losh was born at Missouri Valley, Iowa, December 15, 1900 to Charles and Abbye Losh. He attended school and grew to manhood in Missouri Valley. At the age of 23 he came to the Big Springs area where he engaged in farm work. He was united in marriage to Miss Esther Tophoj of Big Springs on February 10, 1936 and to this union were born two sons, Charles Lawrence, who is at present serving in the navy and Donald Earl who is living at home and attending Lewellen Rural high school. The early part of their married life was spent in the Big Springs community. Several years later they moved to a farm about 17 miles north of Big Springs where they resided for six years. They later purchased a farm in the valley north of Lewellen where they were residing at the time of his passing. "Bud" had been in failing health for several months and two weeks before his passing he entered Clarkson hospital in Omaha where he was treated and he passed away on April 22 at the age of 62 years, four months and seven days. He was preceded in death by his father who died in 1950. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Esther; two sons, Charles and Donald; his 89-year-old mother; one brother Clarence of Modale, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Broughton of Missouri Valley and Mrs. Vera Roby of Lewellen, besides many relatives and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Ralph Armstrong, Forrest Bennett, Fred Weible, Gordon Steward, Alford Smith and Bruce Cochran.
