Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Anthon... Read More	ANTHON, Iowa -- Charles R. "Bob" Huffman, 84, of Anthon passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at his home. Private graveside service will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Charles Robert "Bob" Huffman was born May 26, 1927, in Anthon, the son of Charles and Mildred (Weathers) Huffman. He grew up in the area and graduated from Anthon High School with the class of 1945. He served his country in the U. S. Army, stationed in Germany during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Anthon area, where he remained a lifelong resident. On April 10, 1950, Bob was united in marriage to Florine F. Kurth at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed in the Anthon area until 1972. Bob then worked at IBP as a company inspector until 1986, later working part-time jobs. Bob's beloved wife, Florine, passed away on Nov. 30, 2008. Bob was an avid reader and a master of crossword puzzles. His dog, Pierre, was his close companion and best friend who often rode along with Bob in his bicycle basket. Survivors include his children, Debbie Finneman and her husband, Gary of Anthon, Byron Huffman and his wife, Barb of Anthon, Stan Huffman and his wife, Kerry of Correctionville, Iowa, Cynthia Ketelsen of Anthon, and Mark Huffman and his friend, Jill Howard of Cushing, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Marjorie and her husband, Berg of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Jeannie and her husband, Don of Nevada, Iowa, and Minnabelle of Holstein, Iowa; and his dog, Pierre. Along with his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jake Huffman; one brother, Don; and one sister, Maureen. Pallbearers will be Troy Hayes and Justin Ketelsen. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Huffman and Steve Huffman
