Description	:	Charles Robert Johnson, the child of Algot and Ida Johnson, was born January 31, 1893, at Oseda, Sweden. In infancy he was received into the Kingdom of God thru the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the age of 14. He was received into the communicant membership of the Lutheran church thru the rite of confirmation. In 1910 at the age of 17 he came to America and lived in the Albert City community. In 1917 and 1918 he served with the United States Army in Europe during World War I. On February 20, 1924, he was united in marriage to Esther Johnson of Albert City. To this union was born one son, Stanley, shortly after which Mrs. Johnson passed away.... After returning to the Albert City community he was united in marriage to Hilda Otteman on June 20, 1936. In September of 1942 an adopted daughter, Shirley, joined this family. Charles Johnson, or Carl, as he was more commonly known, was a faithful husband and devoted father He was well-respected in the community. He was a faithful member of St Peter's Lutheran church of Newell having joined this church in 1953. For several years he served as a member of the church council. For the past two years he had been in poor health and after surgery last January he never again regained his strength, but steadily became weaker Finally the Lord in His mercy called Carl from the misery of this world to be home in heaven early on the morning of October 29 at the Veteran's hospital in Omaha, Nebr.
