Description	:	Muscatine Journal Charles Crawford, 89, of Hackett, Arkansas, formerly of Lone Tree, died Sunday, January 2, 2000, after a short illness. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sorden Funeral Home in Lone Tree. The Rev. Ann Rouse will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a general memorial fund has been established. Mr. Crawford was born on February 16, 1910, in Johnson County, the son of George and Julia (Huskins) Crawford. He married Ferne Harshbarger on June 29, 1937, in Muscatine. He was a member of the Iowa City Saddle Club and the National Farmers Organization. He was a farmer and raised horses. Survivors include his wife, Ferne; two sons, Bob Crawford of Hackett, Arkansas and Bill Crawford and his wife, Shelley, of Lone Tree; a grandson, Josh; a sister, Alice Smith of West Liberty; a sister-in-law, Joyce Abbott of Conesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
