Burial was in Brooklyn Cemetery. The son of Theodore Vincent and Mary Forberger Niemann, he was born June 23, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis. He moved with his family to Brooklyn, graduating from high school there in 1953. He then attended Loras College in Dubuque and the University of Iowa. He received a B.S. degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Miami, Fla. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was married to Shirley Jane Patten July 4, 1959, in Brooklyn. Mr. Niemann worked as an aeronautical engineer for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, Mo., from 1962 to 1971. From 1971 to 1975 he was associated with Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co. He formed a partnership with Don Brannian in 1975, and they operated Brannian-Niemann Insurance, Real Estate and Auction Service in Brooklyn. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the Brooklyn Library Board, the Brooklyn Commercial Club, the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Committee, the Jasper County Gun Club, the Brooklyn-Victor Country Club, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and the Poweshiek County Sportsmen's Association. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; one son, Eric of Brooklyn; his parents; four brothers, Ronald of Wadsworth, Ohio, Ted of Raleigh, N.C., Paul of Henderson, Nev., and John of Mankato, Minn.; and two sisters, Mary Butler of Grinnell and Virginia Bartlett of Golden, Colo. He was preceded in death by one brother, George.
