Description	:	Charles R. Anderson, 62, of 2390 Dunham St. died Saturday at Jane Lamb Health Center following an extended illness. The funeral will be 10:30a.m. Tuesday in Clinton Memorial Chapel of Clinton Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Griffeth, Chancy Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Wilford McDonald, Jack Evers, Jim Rockwell, Gus Witt, Jack Morgan and Gary Mulholland. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Hoskinson, Walt Lange, Walt Killean, Jim Vining, Sheldon Rittmer, Howard Carr, Kenneth Weaver, and Arnie Dosland. Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Lake City, Iowa, to Cecil and Pearl Jones Anderson. He married Marion E. Still, March 4, 1945, in Clinton. He received his education in Lake City schools and moved to Clinton in 1943. Mr. Anderson retired Aug. 5, 1985, with 26 years of service to Clinton County. He was deputy sheriff from 1959 to 1968 and Clerk of Court from 1968 until his retirement. He was past master of Emmulation Lodge No. 255, past worthy patron of the Eastern Star, a member of the Clinton consistory, president of the District Clerk's Association, member of AMVETS Post No. 28, and a board member of the Salvation Army for many years. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frank C. of Clinton and George R. of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Kay L, Thede of Boone, and Angela A. Hawkins of Earlham, Iowa; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Vivian Higgins of Lake City, Mrs. Cecil (Mardell) Lewis of Edinburg, Texas, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Bass of Troy, Mich., and Mrs. Junior (Connie) Lewis of Leonard, Texas. ------------------------------------------ I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when Day is done.
