Description	:	Storer Cemetery: Here was the first Regular Baptist Church in the township. The church was built by Charles Storer in 1832 or 1833, on his farm, by the site of this cemetery. The church and cemetery were between two little streams called Rock Lick and Suck Lick. Regular meetings were held here until a division was caused among the members of the church over the question of the abolition of slavery. Read More	Storer Cemetery: Here was the first Regular Baptist Church in the township. The church was built by Charles Storer in 1832 or 1833, on his farm, by the site of this cemetery. The church and cemetery were between two little streams called Rock Lick and Suck Lick. Regular meetings were held here until a division was caused among the members of the church over the question of the abolition of slavery. In the years 1837 and 1838 many of the members withdrew but still held this church as a place of worship. The other members who did not agree with them over the slavery question organized a Baptist Church of their own called "The East Fork of Brushcreek Baptist Church." The Regular Baptist Church never regained its strength and disappeared in 1867 leaving only this cemetery as a reminder of where the Baptists first flourished in the township. On Sept. 23, 1871, in Original Book 50, page 271, Highland County Deed Records, James A Storer and Sophronia his wife, Andrew E Storer and Catharine his wife, all of Marion County, Iowa, conveyed to John E. Storer of Highland County, Ohio, their two-thirds interest in 311 1/4 acres in Jackson Township, being the real estate of which Charles Storer died seized "Excepting and reserving the right and privilege of the graveyard upon said premises to the said James A Storer and Andrew E Storer and their children as a burying place.
