Description	:	Charles Samuel Jeffries, son of George and Clara Sherman Jeffries, was born July 5, 1890, in Carroll Co., Iowa. He was one of eleven children, six of whom have preceded him in death. With his parents he moved to Republic Co., Kansas, in 1900, where he attended grade school. He graduated from high school in Chester, Nebraska, where in early youth he united with the Methodist Church. His marriage to Amy B. Davis took place in February 1915. Read More	Charles Samuel Jeffries, son of George and Clara Sherman Jeffries, was born July 5, 1890, in Carroll Co., Iowa. He was one of eleven children, six of whom have preceded him in death. With his parents he moved to Republic Co., Kansas, in 1900, where he attended grade school. He graduated from high school in Chester, Nebraska, where in early youth he united with the Methodist Church. His marriage to Amy B. Davis took place in February 1915. To this union were born two daughters. With his family he moved to Wymore in 1918, where he began his service with the Burlington railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. In 1937 he came to Lincoln, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his wife Amy, his two daughters: Mrs. Alice Munnis of Lincoln, and Mrs. Clara Helen DiFulco of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren; three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Mary Westrick of Hutchinson, Kans., Mrs. Bess Burdick of Sheridan, Ore., Mr. William Jeffries of South Bay, Florida, Mrs. Clara Ross of Sidney, Ohio; and a host of sorrowing neighbors and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services were conducted December 15, in the Hodgman, Splain Mortuary in Lincoln. Dr. Frank Court was the minister in charge. Mr. Jeffries was alone in the house at the time and is thought to have fallen down the basement stairs, suffering a brain concussion. At the time of his death, he had been suffering from arthritis and walked with a cane. Survivors include his wife, Amy; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Munnis of Lincoln and Mrs. Clara Helen Difulco of Denver; five grandchildren; a brother, William of South Bay, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. S. V. Westrick of Hutchison, Kan., Mrs. A. E. Burdick of Sheridan, Ore., and Mrs. William Ross of Sidney, O. Funeral services were hold Monday with burial at Chester, Nebr. Pallbearers were M. A. Johnson, G. C. Dorsey, E. R. Garvin, Joe Gertiesen, A. S. Crisler and E. D. Patton. Among those from Wymore who attended the services were Mahlon Neuman, Charles Pirie, Miss Gladys Pirie, and Clyde Miller.
