Born in Ecum Secum, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Florence (Ashton) Veinotte. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, and was a member of the Nova Scotia Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association. He was owner and operator of Lunenburg Dairy for a number of years until retirement in 1992. He was a former town councillor for the Town of Lunenburg and past grand master of Unity Lodge 4 of the Masonic Order, Lunenburg. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, and had been a member of the Bluenose Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice Shauffenburg; daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Michael Hebb), Halifax; stepsons, Reginald Anderson and wife Patricia, Morrisburg, Ontario; Karl Anderson and wife Susan, Oshawa, Ontario; sisters, Mary Veinotte, Louise (Mrs. John Cann), both of Halifax; grandchildren, Sarah, Jared, Erin, Megan, Patrick, Sabine; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Roger, and Victor. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with visitation from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, November 16. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Archdeacon Reginald MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Fishermen's' Memorial Hospital; the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or any charity.
