Description	:	EX-COUNTY CORONER DIED AT OR. CITY Charles Vander Ploeg, 81, former Sioux County coroner, died Sunday at a hospital in Orange City. Mr. Vander Ploeg had served as coroner for 16 years and was in the furniture and undertaking business at Sioux Center, Iowa, for 40 years. He retired about 1941. Funeral services were at 10:30 A. M. Survivors include the widow; three sons, James of Sheldon, Iowa, Arthur of Sioux Center, and the Rev. Harold of Columbus, Nebraska; two daughters, Mrs. Merlyn Kjerland of Renton, Wash., Mrs. Bernard Hogan of Chicago; a brother, John of Yucaipa, California; five sisters, Mrs. John Rozeboom of Steen, Minnesota, Mrs. Garret Huitink and Mrs. Rev. R. J. Lubbers, both of Orange City, and Mrs. Tunis Den Herder and Mrs. Dick Raak, both of Sioux Center; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sioux County Index 1967-12-28.
