Charles Armsbury died last night at the family residence, 1129 West Myrtle street, after an illness of about five weeks. He was born at Albany, Wisconsin in 1856 and was 61 years 11 months and 26 days old at the time of his death. He came to Kansas in 1871 and in 1879 was united in marriage with Amy Jane Tilvey in Osborn county, where he resided until about five years ago, when he removed to Virginia, but three years ago he returned to this state and located in this city. He is survived by his wife, seven daughters, Mrs. J. F. Dillman of this city; Mrs. Lucian Wray of Lingle, Wyoming, and Florence, Ruth. Reita, Lola and Deda, all still living at home; and one son. Warren of Downs, Kansas. The remains will be taken to Osborn county for burial as soon as the son and Mrs. Wray arrive. The deceased was for five years sheriff of that county, and his official position and long residence there gave him a very wide acquaintanceship in the county and he was held in the highest regard by those best acquainted with him. Although a man handicapped with the loss of one arm he was a very industrious and active man until stricken with his last illness. He was a good neighbor and an upright citizen and was highly regarded by the people of this community with whom he had come in contact.
