He had six brothers and three sisters and was known by family and friends as “Wayne”. Wayne, lived in Moorhead Monona Iowa until after the death of his father Dennis W Butts in 1876. His mother remarried and by 1880, is living in Decatur, Burt Nebraska. His mother died in June of 1888 after giving birth to his youngest brother. The boys were sent to Monona Iowa to live with an elder in the Mormon Church. Wayne married Maude Woodward on 09 Sep 1898 in Decatur, Burt County, Nebraska. For a number of years, he was employed as a Blacksmith in Thurston and Decatur, Nebraska until around 1941. He was employed as a Well Driller in 1941. He lived in Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa and also in Clear Lake, Iowa, USA in 1942. Unsure if he was back living in Decatur when he died. Charles Wayne Butts and Maude Woodward had one son.
