Read More	Husband of Donna Rush, b. 9 Jul 1941 MOORESVILLE - Charles Wayne Orbison died at home Friday, June 10, 2011, with his wife by his side. He fought a long time to stay strong for his family, never with a word of complaint. He will be watching out for all of us from a better place but his body has gone to Wake Forest Research Center in hopes of helping our doctors find a cure for Myelofibrosis. Wayne started C. Wayne Orbison & Sons, Inc. in the early 70's. His sons, Rusty and Kevin, grew and worked with him. They eventually became the new owners. Later Teresa, a daughter, took over running the office. Another daughter, Pam, made sure he always looked his best with her beauty shop business. Wayne looked forward every year going to Hatteras with Don Belk and the gang flounder fishing. He loved working in his shop and Bob Day's shop, talking to his friends, tending his garden and playing cards. He traveled most every place in what he called, "God's Country", good old North Carolina, from the mountains to the seashore. He loved his wife, sons and daughters, but his grandchildren became the apples of his eye. He was fortunate to have all eight of them close and they brought untold joy to his life. He was a Scout supporter for many years. He raised money for Troop 330 yearly by barbecuing pork shoulders and chicken halves along side many helpers. For years he furnished wood and labor for the barbecues at Centenary United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beulah and Eldridge Orbison; and two brothers, Cecil and Darrell Orbison. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Donna Rush Orbison; his sons, Russell Orbison and wife Luann, and Kevin Orbison; his daughters, Teresa Wallace and husband Scott, and Pam Bostian and husband Bobby; his beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Bradley, Kelsey, Regan, Victoria, Slade, Rustyn and RP; brothers, Phillip Orbison and Edward Orbison Jr.; sisters, Catherine Love, Peggy Stuart, Frances Karriker, Phyllis Honeycutt, Becky Waller and Patty Jean Orbison; along with brothers and sisters-in-law, all of Mooresville. Service and Visitation: A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, with Rev. Michael Swofford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, June 13, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scout Troop 330, c/o Centenary United Methodist Church, 620 Centenary Church Road, Mount Ulla, NC 28125 and/or Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary, 171 Fairview Road, Mooresville, NC 28117. To doctors, Stephen Ferguson, Richard Krumdieck and David Knostandt, who treated Wayne for many years with expert knowledge, sensitive care and great friendship; he was most appreciative.
