Born March 17, 1932, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Charles Rubert and Dessa Hester Smith Jones. Read More	LITTLE ORLEANS,MARYLAND -- Charles William "Bill" Jones, 78, of Little Orleans, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Western Maryland Health Systems, Cumberland. Born March 17, 1932, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Charles Rubert and Dessa Hester Smith Jones. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Gray; and one brother, James Jones. He was a graduate of Suitland High School, and was also a graduate of KREI Institute in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, Pa., where he served as an usher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a life member of the DAV; a member of the VFW post 467, Westminster; the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, Hancock; The Gideon's International; the NRA; the Civil War Trust; and the Alumni Association of the Maryland State Police. He was retired as an Electronic Specialist from the National Security Agency. Prior to that, he was a journeyman machinist. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis McGrogan Jones, of Little Orleans, whom he married June 17, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pa. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Lynn and husband Robert Knotts, of Staunton, Va.; one son, Matthew William Jones and wife Nancy Jean Jones, of Little Orleans; one sister, Dolores Kissellbach, of Bowie; one brother, George Alan Jones, of Chester; grandchildren, Brett Charles Meunier, Tyler William Jones, Laura Elizabeth Knott, and Robert Paul Knott III. The family will receive friends at the Needmore Bible Church on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, Pa., with the Rev. Douglas Poffenberger officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Rocky Gap Veterans' Cemetery, Flintstone. There will be a light lunch served at the church at 11 a.m. before the services.
