Description	:	LINCOLN — Charlie “Bill” Raymond, 87, of Lincoln died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at his home in Lincoln surrounded by his family. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Betty of Lincoln, and his dear brother and sister, Robert Raymond of Lincoln and Mary Lindahl of Tilden. He is also survived by a large and loving group of children and grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Betty of Lincoln, and his dear brother and sister, Robert Raymond of Lincoln and Mary Lindahl of Tilden. He is also survived by a large and loving group of children and grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley; his parents, Hugh and Myrtle Raymond; his brother, Richard Raymond; and an infant daughter. Charlie was born Oct. 13, 1927. Following his Navy service during World War II, Charlie graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and practiced in Nebraska and Colorado for more than 50 years. Along with his family, he also built a farm and ranch operation in Nebraska and Montana, and followed his passion for that endeavor all his life. In addition, over the years, he served on multiple boards and committees and served as toastmaster and featured speaker for various organizations and events. However, Charlie was not defined solely by his professional and civic careers. He is remembered, first and foremost, by countless friends, neighbors and his family as a man who provided help and guidance to all who sought it, who lived each day with boundless compassion and who, until the end of his life, held an extraordinary reserve of optimism, humor, courage and dignity. Per Charlie’s wishes, a private family service was held Saturday, Sept. 12.
