Description	:	OBITUARY Gorsuch Services for Charles W Gorsuch were conducted by the Rev Martin Gruneich at the Steffy Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, May 11. Mrs Jack Ramsey was the organist at the rites. Casket bearers were James Hall, Rodney Hall, Robert Gorsuch, Steven Hall, Charles Hall and William Hall. Burial was in Masonic - IOOF Cemetery. Mr Gorsuch, 87, died at his home south of Montezuma in Union Township, Mahaska County, on Tuesday, May 9. Mr Gorsuch, 87, died at his home south of Montezuma in Union Township, Mahaska County, on Tuesday, May 9. The son of Samuel and Alida Curry Gorsuch, he was born March 2, 1891, in the same house in which he died. He attended rural school and Montezuma High School and then began farming with his father. On July 8, 1911, he was married to Millie McCartney. They lived on a farm south of his home farm until 1926 when they purchased his family's home farm. In 1912 he became a member of Tennyson Lodge No 530 AF & AM at Barnes City which later merged with Universe Lodge 242 at What Cheer. He recently transferred his membership to Lafayette Lodge No 52 at Montezuma. He is survived by his wife and their family, Mrs Leta Hall, and Sammie and Iris Gorsuch; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Bertha McCartney; and a brother, Clyde Gorsuch. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Robert, Johnnie, Leslie and Jimmie. Montezuma Republican, Montezuma, Iowa, Thursday, May 18, 1978
