Born July 30, 1925, in Chambersburg, MO, he was the son of Earl C. and Vivian (Perry) Boon. On May 8, 1947, he married Shirley Jean Senf in Ft. Madison. Madison, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Ft. Madison Community Hospital. Born July 30, 1925, in Chambersburg, MO, he was the son of Earl C. and Vivian (Perry) Boon. On May 8, 1947, he married Shirley Jean Senf in Ft. Madison. Mr. Boon was a self-employed logging contractor and musician in a country band called "The Rhythm Drifters." He was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church. He served in the Army during World War 11. He loved fishing, playing music and inventing and building equipment. He was inducted into the Rock-A-Billy hall of fame. Survivors include his wife; three sons, William E. Boon of Branson West, MO, Robert H. Boon of Fulton, MO and Daniel J. Boon of Ft. Madison; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Boon of Luray, MO, one sister, Lola Boon of Adel; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter. Visitation will be from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Ft. Madison, with family meeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Boon will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at King-Lynk Funeral Home, with the Rev. W. Mike Biklen officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established. (picture)
