Description	:	Charles Wilmore Witt, son of Stephen C. and Margaret Davis Witt, was born near Berea, Kentucky, January 28, 1856, and passed away at his home near Keosauqua, Iowa, December 8, 1946. He was united in marriage to Sarah A. Zachau, January 11, 1881, and to this union were born eleven children, two of whom preceded him in death, an infant son in 1893 and Sallie in 1924. Read More	Charles Wilmore Witt, son of Stephen C. and Margaret Davis Witt, was born near Berea, Kentucky, January 28, 1856, and passed away at his home near Keosauqua, Iowa, December 8, 1946. He was united in marriage to Sarah A. Zachau, January 11, 1881, and to this union were born eleven children, two of whom preceded him in death, an infant son in 1893 and Sallie in 1924. He is survived by his wife and nine children, Samuel C., of Bridger, Montana; John of Grants Pass, Oregon; Jennie, Mrs. Ada Warren, and Clarence of Keosauqua; Allen of Stockport; Charlie of Douds; George S. of Johnston, and Della Ruth at home, who with 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one brother John, and many other relatives and friends are left to mourn their loss. Late in life he gave his heart to Christ and became a member to Center Chapel Methodist Church. He was a great lover of home and was never as happy as when the children all came home for the day. Funeral services were held at the Burnett Funeral Home in Keosauqua Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Treverton Warren in charge. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. Glen Williams. Burial was in the Fellows cemetery and pallbearers were: Allen Witt, George Witt, Clarence Witt, Iska Duvall, Charlie Witt and Clarence P. Witt. Source: Van Buren Co.
