| Description | : | Married Mary Tolley Worthington on May 28, 1812. In August 1814, Major Dorsey was third in command of the 32nd Maryland Regiment which stood to the last along with Commodore Barney at the battle of Bladensburg. He retired a Colonel and later served as County Commissioner of Howard County after it was separated from Anne Arundel County. He eventually owned over 1,000 acres of land around Ellicott City along with his brother Caleb, including White Hall Manor.
