Description	:	Charles Grimes, 70, World War I veteran and a resident of the Chambers community nearly all of his life, died Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Anthony's Hospital, O'Neill. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Chambers Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Cox officiating. Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery. Charles Zenas Grimes was born October 3, 1890, at Manteno, Ill. He was the son of Walter S and Elsie A. Grimes, and moved with his parents in 1895 to a farm east of Chambers, in Holt County, Nebraska. He married Beulah G. Moss on November 25, 1928 at the "Little Brown Church in the Vale" at Nashua, Iowa. They became the parents of three children. A daughter died in infancy. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was also a charter member of American Legion Post No. 320 of Chambers. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gerald R. and Charles Bruce Grimes, both of Chambers; a granddaughter, Patricia; three sisters, Mrs. J. S. Palmer of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. T. E. Newhouse of Chambers and Mrs. P I. Gaiser of Lincoln, and one brother Kermit Grimes of Sacramento, Calif.
