Description	:	Charlie G Holdaway, 77 of Independence, died Tuesday, July 9 1985 in Twin County Community Hospital. Born Feb 7 1908 in the Fox community of Grayson County, he was a son of Lee Holdaway and Sarah Ann Neaves Holdaway. He was retired from Fields Manufacturing Company with 35 years of service and was a member and deacon of Pine Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Jones Holdaway; one daughter, Mrs Rex (Ida Ruth) Bonham, Independence; two sisters, Mrs H L (Goldie) Anderson and Mrs Helen Jones, both of Independence; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Born Feb 7 1908 in the Fox community of Grayson County, he was a son of Lee Holdaway and Sarah Ann Neaves Holdaway. He was retired from Fields Manufacturing Company with 35 years of service and was a member and deacon of Pine Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Jones Holdaway; one daughter, Mrs Rex (Ida Ruth) Bonham, Independence; two sisters, Mrs H L (Goldie) Anderson and Mrs Helen Jones, both of Independence; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services were conducted July 11 at 2pm in the Pine Branch Baptist Church. The Rev Ford Phillips , the Rev Lewis Ross and the Rev Fred Jennings officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Independence Rescue Squad.
