Born June 15, 1945, in Knoxville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Lester and Alma (Slaughter) Damewood. In 1960 she married Gordon W. Porter Jr., who died in 1995. She was a nurse's aid at Vernon Manor Children's Home, Wabash. She was preceded in death a son and two sisters. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, Dennis Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
