Published in the Piscataquis (ME) observer 5 May 1864 p3: "DIED---In Foxcroft, April 26th, after a distressing illness of nine days, Mrs. Charlotte, wife of Dr. Aaron Tucker, aged 75 years. Mrs. Tucker was a native of Charlestown, Mass., and has been a resident in Foxcroft 45 years. Possessed of great fortitude and energy of character, she cheerfully shared with her husband, the hardships and privations attendant upon a new settlement:---always hopeful, ever looking upon the bright side, and seldom yielding to discouragements, she succeeded in whatever she undertook. Her cheerful, happy face, her warm heart and estimable character, won the love and respect of a large circle of friends outside the circle of relatives, but dearer still was she to those who could claim her as a relative. As a wife she has been faithful and most devoted; and for three years past has watched over and nursed her invalid husband with a patience and tenderness that has been indeed lovely. As a mother she was affectionate and selfsacrificing, and her grandchildren shared largely in her affections. Her christian character was without reproach. She loved the House of God, and the communion of saints. She bore her last illness with patience, expressing no wish to recover except to take care of her husband, but that she cheerfully submitted to the will of God,---then turned with joy to her 'Home,' which seemed to be opened to her vision and the Saviour revealed to her sight. Her loss will be deeply felt by the Church, by friends and relatives, but more especially by her aged aged and infirm companion, who will miss the tender affection that none but a wife can give;---and the daughters, who will miss her tender sympathy, her wise counsel and maternal love;---and should the absent sons live to return they will miss the embrace of her who pillowed their heads in infancy---who, when they went forth had her blessing, and whose prayers have ever followed them. Truly 'Her children shall arise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her.'"
