Description	:	Southwick, Charlotte Elizabeth was born to Richard W and Charlotte Robinson in Livingston county, New York, February 22, 1894, and was married to George D Southwick September 17, 1843. In 1867 they removed from the Empire State, settling in Winnebago county, Illinois. Five years later they took up their residence about three miles northwest of Cambridge, where they lived about one year, removing then to a farm of their own in the northern part of Polk county. After a year passed there, they came to town and resided here continuously till death released them from earthly pain and suffering. ... Read More	Southwick, Charlotte Elizabeth was born to Richard W and Charlotte Robinson in Livingston county, New York, February 22, 1894, and was married to George D Southwick September 17, 1843. After a year passed there, they came to town and resided here continuously till death released them from earthly pain and suffering. Mr Southwick's demise occurring September 20, 1883. Three children were born to them, of whom Merritt now lives in Lyon county, Allie (Wire) in Nevada, and Albert W. three miles west of town. Deceased was taken seriously ill during the latter portion of July, form which she never recovered, and the sorrowing ones assembled watched while the spirit took its flight at 8:50 a.m., Tuesday , October 2, 1894. Mrs Southwick as noted above an old resident of our town. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in her younger days, but on coming west membership was formed in the Methodist Episcopal denominations, her connection the last twenty seven years being with the Cambridge society. The funeral was held in the church Wednesday, the service being conducted by Rev John Elliott, ex-pastor of this congregation, assisted by Rev O.F. Shaw, after which the body was laid to rest in Cambridge cemetery.
