Description	:	Charlotte Faye Comfort was born July 5, 1915, to Clarence H. Comfort and Elisabeth Schur Comfort in her family's home north of Wells. She resided on a farm northwest of Wells during her school years and graduated from Minneapolis High School. She taught elementary grades in two one-room schools - Concord and Pleasant Hill - until her marriage. On May 5, 1935, she was wed to Daniel Foster Crow in the Methodist parsonage in Wells. They lived in Bennington for one year before purchasing the current farm located four miles north and two miles east of Bennington. To this union were born four daughters who all survive: Connie Langvardt of Junction City; Doris Lowe of Rochester, PA; Jeannie Gish of Topeka; and Joann Davis of Mankato. Also surviving are Connie's husband Gary and their family: Danny Langvardt, Pam, Bob, Robby, Matthew, Andrew and Joshua Haynes, and Teresa, Marty and Rachel Johnston; Doris' husband John and her family: Denise, Mark, Kyle and Kayla Lewarchik, and Robert and Terri Burbidge; Jeannie's husband Dan and their family: Todd, Trista and Sydney Gish, Kelly and Dusty Norman, and Jeremy Gish; and Joann's husband Dean and their son Shaun. Charlotte worked diligently caring for her family, making her daughters' clothing and tending a large vegetable garden and the beautiful flowers she loved. After Daniel's death on Oct. 12, 1976, she continued to reside on the farm and cared for it until she elected to move to long-term care in Mankato on Dec. 5, 1998. She was an active member of the Wells United Methodist Church and had a deep loyalty to her church friends. Charlotte served in various offices of the United Methodist Women and as the church pianist at various times, including the months preceding her move to Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Ernest Comfort and a great-grandson Joseph Haynes. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
