Read More	Lyme, NH – Charlotte Hilda Balch LaMott, 90, a lifelong Lyme resident passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease at Hanover Terrace Healthcare on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She was born on September 14, 1921 in Lyme Center, NH to the late Harvey & Lillian (Morrill) Balch. She attended elementary school in Lyme Center and graduated from Hanover High School in 1940. She married Dean E. LaMott on September 20, 1940. They made their home in Lyme Center and were married for 53 years before Dean's death in 1994. Dean surprised Charlotte on their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in front of friends and family. She lived a very full and rich life! She loved her family, God, and her community. She was a long-time member of the Baptist Church of Lyme, the Missionary Society, and the Ladies Aid. Charlotte was also a long-time ballot clerk for the Town of Lyme, working along side her sister, Dora. When she was younger, she was a Valley News Correspondent for Lyme Center. She always loved children and was a member of the Lyme PTA and a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She was also the auditor for the Baptist Church of Lyme and, for many years she volunteered at the Lyme Bargain Barn. In her later years, she and Dean both were RSVP Volunteers for the weekly dinners in Orford, NH; after Dean's death, she continued to volunteer until her illness made it too difficult. That didn't stop her from volunteering to help put the Lyme Community Church Newsletter together, usually with her dear friend, Christine. She loved helping others and would do so whenever she could. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla LaMott of Lyme and son, Nelson LaMott and his wife, Susan of Dover, grandchildren: Vicki Bacon-Thomas and her husband, Dan of Lyme; Laurie Tostenson and her husband, John of West Canaan; Jennifer LaMott of Dover; Matthew LaMott and his wife, Shannon of Mocksville, NC; and Eric LaMott of Dover and his fiancé, Elizabeth Ferro; great-grandchildren: William Smith, Garrett Husband and his wife, Katelyn, Justin Husband, Kaitlyn Mote, Dylan LaMott and Mason LaMott. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and two sister-in-laws, Esther and Marion Balch. She was predeceased by her parents and her thirteen siblings: Maude Burton, Dorothy Hart, Bertha Waite, Dora Sanborn, Mason Balch, Ellery Balch, Raymond Balch, James Balch, John Balch, Roy Balch, Beatrice Durivage, Florence Keating and a baby brother she and her sister, Dora, lovingly named Frank who died shortly after he was born. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service in celebration of her life at the First Baptist Church of Lyme (located in Lyme Center) on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Lyme, NH. A reception will follow at the Vestry in Lyme Center.
