Read More	She was only thirty four years old, a young woman who enjoyed life thoroughly, and while she had been an invalid for quite some time, the last few weeks she had seemed much better and come back to Moline, Illinois, to spend time with her brother, Densmore, Guthrie. Her name was Charlotte, but she was always called Lottie by her friends, and it was a noticeable fact that her acquaintances were all friends, for her unselfish, kindly nature won her many friends. Lottie Guthrie was born on a farm northeast of Washington, and she was educated in Washington Schools, graduating here, and attending normal school in Colorado. She taught school for many years near Denver. Two years ago she was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis, and an operation was performed, but she was never well afterward. A second operation was found necessary last year. Mrs Guthrie had been in Colorado with her, but she was so much improved in her health that the two came to Moline three weeks ago. On Friday she had taken ill, and she died the following Wednesday. Besides her mother, one sister and two brothers are living: Mrs Blance Guthrie Miller of Chicago; Densmore Guthrie of Moline and Carl Guthrie of Clinton, Iowa. When she was in Iowa, Miss Guthrie was a faithful member of the First United Presbyterian Church. She was optimistic and cheerful, always, even during her illness, she was able to see a blessing in her suffering, making her realize that sickness and suffering helped her to appreciate good health. The funeral services were held at the Old Methodist church on Monday afternoon. The First Church pastor, Rev, Wishart, having charge.Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery. Washington Record 10/29/1919
