She had failed rapidly during the last few days before her death. Charlotte Lenz, daughter of Nicholas and Barbara Lenz, was born May 7, 1871. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church when she was a young girl. Her mother died in 1886 and in 1887 she came with her father to Westport township, Dickinson County. On May 13, 1891, she was married to Wm. J. Matthiesen, who passed away May 13, 1928. To this union were born four children: Charles, who lives on the home farm in Westport township. Mrs. Kathryn Shibley of Arnolds Park, Mrs. Emma Davis of Milford and Ann, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Barbara Schmidt of Illinois and two brothers, Adam Lenz and George Lenz, both of Lake Park, and by four grandchildren. In 1913 she moved to Arnolds Park where she has since resided. She was a loving wife and mother, a faithful friend and a patient sufferer. *The Milford Mail, June 26, 1941. -------------
