Description	:	SUDDEN DEATH LITTLE CHARLOTTE ERDMAN, FRIDAY Charlotte Erdman, the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Erdman, died suddenly Friday morning from a hemorrhage of the stomach. The little girl complained Sunday of headaches and the diagnosed it as a bad cold. This continued with more or less fever until Thursday evening, when the patient seemed much improved and rested easily. Read More	SUDDEN DEATH LITTLE CHARLOTTE ERDMAN, FRIDAY Charlotte Erdman, the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Erdman, died suddenly Friday morning from a hemorrhage of the stomach. The little girl complained Sunday of headaches and the diagnosed it as a bad cold. This continued with more or less fever until Thursday evening, when the patient seemed much improved and rested easily. The report Friday morning was still very favorable, but within the next half hour the little soul had been summoned to its heavenly rest. The death was the saddest that has occurred in this community for many years. Like a thunderbolt from clear skies, this sudden calling of an only child left hearts broken and a home desolate. Funeral services were held at the house and afterward at the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon. The school children of the parochial school formed a phalanx at the church and at the cemetery, through which the procession passed. They also sang to the memory of their departed mate. Rev. Lindborst spoke words of solace from the scriptures, choosing as his text, Isaiah 40, 11: "He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arms, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead the sheep mothers." Probably nothing so well depicts the deep respect for the departed and the grief of the parents as the passing of hundreds in the last silent view. The parents have the heartfelt sympathy of a host of relatives and friends. Those who attended from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pfeiffer, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reule and son, Mr. and Mrs. George Waldelich, Miss Clara and Louis Heimlich of Lafayette, C. Hagen of Morocco, and Mrs. John Hagen, William Hagen and family, Earl Hagen and family, and John Ward of Chalmers. Obituary published in the Reynolds Journal (Reynolds, IN), on October 9, 1912.
