Description	:	Charlotte R. Bunnell, age 92, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2015, two days short of her 93rd birthday. Charlotte was born in Logansport, Indiana on May 31, 1922, the daughter of Archie and Lena (Zimmerman) Matthews. In 1940, Charlotte graduated from Royal Center, IN High School. Bunnell, age 92, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2015, two days short of her 93rd birthday. Charlotte was born in Logansport, Indiana on May 31, 1922, the daughter of Archie and Lena (Zimmerman) Matthews. In 1940, Charlotte graduated from Royal Center, IN High School. At the age of 21, in 1943, she enlisted in the US Navy and joined the WAVES. She served with honor for two years and earned the American Campaign Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon. Upon discharge from military service, she returned to Indiana and attended Purdue University. On December 22, 1946 Charlotte married the love of her life, Edward R. Bunnell in Monticello, Indiana. Their marriage of 62 years produced three wonderful children and was based upon a strong Christian foundation. A loving and caring family was always the focus of Charlotte’s life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her trademark was a warm smile with open arms. She was a very loving and tender woman. Charlotte and Ed lived in Jacksonville, FL for 20 years and Young Harris, GA for 27 years where they were active members of Sharps Memorial Methodist Church. Charlotte is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Linda) – Jacksonville, FL, Daniel (Marsha) – Greenville, SC and Diane (Bill) Flynn – Gulf Breeze, FL; grandchildren, Mark, Matt, Jennifer, Michael, Brian, Carrie, Sean and Mick; 9 great-grandchildren, Preston, Payton, Parker, Lilah, Wyatt, Charlotte, Jack, Edward and Adelyn; and sisters, Delores and Helen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward. A memorial service will be held 10am Wednesday June 3 at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, 100 Andrew Jackson Trail, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561. At a later date, Charlotte will be buried next to her husband Ed at Riverview Cemetery, Monticello, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to a local hospice care center.
