Mr. Prosser was born in Florence County, a son of the late Colon and Odell Tyler Prosser. He worked at DuPont in the casting department. He served in the U. S. Navy and the Merchant Marines. Mr. Prosser became disabled after a traffic accident in 1977 but served as an amazing and inspirational person to those who knew him and he never complained. Prosser, 75, died Wednesday, January 8, 2013, in the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Prosser was born in Florence County, a son of the late Colon and Odell Tyler Prosser. He worked at DuPont in the casting department. He served in the U. S. Navy and the Merchant Marines. Mr. Prosser became disabled after a traffic accident in 1977 but served as an amazing and inspirational person to those who knew him and he never complained. Survivors include: his wife, Annie Barfield Prosser of Coward; one son, Terry Prosser of Lexington; three step-sons, Jack (Jeanette) Barnes of the Philippines, Wayne (Gaynell) Bouchette of Andrews and Kenny (Peggy) Bouchette of Sc-ranton; one step-daughter, Cindy (Bill) Rauch of Scranton, one sister, Audrey Prosser of California; four nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; special friends Willard and Chris Collins and Don Smith and his sons Steve and Bobby. He was predeceased by one step-son, Billy Richardson, one sister, Margie Alexander and four brothers, Richard Prosser, Fred Prosser, Ray Prosser and Tommy Prosser. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday in the Brockington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Friendfield P. H. Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made the McLeod Hospice House, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
