Description	:	Cheryle Bjornsen Havranek, age 69, of O'Neill, Nebraska, passed away Monday afternoon, August 1, 2016, at Avera St. Anthony’s in O’Neill. She was born on December 18, 1946, in Lynch, Nebraska, the daughter of Lee and Maxine (Braithwait) Bjornsen. Cheryle graduated from Orchard High School in 1965, then attended college at the Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota, studying X-Ray and Lab Technician. She was born on December 18, 1946, in Lynch, Nebraska, the daughter of Lee and Maxine (Braithwait) Bjornsen. Cheryle graduated from Orchard High School in 1965, then attended college at the Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota, studying X-Ray and Lab Technician. After graduation, she worked at the hospital in Creighton, Nebraska. Cheryle met Don Havranek at a dance at the O’Neill Legion Club. They were married on November 30, 1970, in Creighton. To this union, three children were born: Mike, Steve, and Kim. Cheryle and Don lived in Creighton until March of 1973 when they moved to O’Neill. She worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital until she retired in 1995. Cheryle was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Alter Society, and the Big Pal Little Pal program. She also delivered Meals on Wheels, drove the VA van, and was always giving rides to those in need. Cheryle worked many funeral luncheons and was a great cook just like her mother. Cheryle enjoyed slot machines, playing cards, following Husker sports, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was fun-loving, kind-hearted, and would do anything for anyone at any time. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Cheryle is survived by: her husband of 45 years, Don Havranek; three children, Mike Havranek and wife Michele, Steve Havranek and wife Melody, and Kim Havranek and Steve Faust; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; brother, Kevin Bjornsen and wife Rhonda; sister, Val Nauenburg and husband Dale; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother Dennis; and sister Christy. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill followed by an inurnment in the O’Neill Cemetery.
