Description	:	Chester "Chet" Brown, 80, of Marshalltown, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at his home. Funeral services for Chet will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Chester "Chet" Brown was born September 23, 1932 in Union, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur and Jesse Holliday Brown. Chet was raised and educated in the New Providence School District graduating High School in 1950. Read More	Chester "Chet" Brown, 80, of Marshalltown, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at his home. Funeral services for Chet will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Chester "Chet" Brown was born September 23, 1932 in Union, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur and Jesse Holliday Brown. Chet was raised and educated in the New Providence School District graduating High School in 1950. Chet was united in marriage to Shirleen Flanagan on June 29, 1952 on a farm near New Providence. He had many jobs throughout his life including, running a gas station, farming, insurance salesman, organizer of the Pine Lake Opry, retiring from Fisher Governor after 32 years and from 1975 he owned and operated Brown and Sons Auto dealership as well as Brown's Camper Sales. Chet's favorite things in life were country music, camping with his family, following his children and grand-children with all of their sports wherever that might of taken him, as well as sponsoring their many sports teams. Chet also had a great passion for the sport of baseball and had an offer to play professional baseball in his earlier years. Chet is survived by his wife: Shirleen Brown; Children: Linda (Rick) Nelson, Larry (Karen) Brown, Debra Brown Fisher and Betty L. Brown; Grandchildren: Shonya (Shawn) Hoskins, Justin (Michelle) Brown, Jessie (Dustin) Buffington, Angie (Desmond Ofei) Brown, Shane (Tammy) Brown, Terry "TJ" (Rachel) Brown, Chester "Chip" (Ashley) Brown, Michelle (Bob Barnard) Brown, Terrissa (Drew Riemenschneider) Brown, Christopher (Dani Gilge) Brown, Marissa Brown and Shannon Brown; Great- Grandchildren: Kylee and Kamren, Triton and Kendall, Brad and Kaitlin, Aspen, Brianne, Emma, Max, Ashley, Easton, Raylinn, Hunter and Baylee; Siblings: Juanita (Oscar) Duncan, Herschell Brown, Shirley Sizemore, Gaylord (Laura) Brown, Gilbert Brown and Gearld (Kate) Brown; three Aunts: Aretha Yates, Lotia Miller and Beulah Jay and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Jesse(Holliday) Brown, one brother: Floyd Brown and son, Terry Brown - 2008. Funeral services for Chester "Chet" Brown 80, of Marshalltown, were held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. R. Kim. Wilson officiating. He was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Shane Brown, Terry "T.J." Brown, Chester "Chip" Brown, Justin Brown, Christopher Brown and Shaw Hoskins. Honorary Pallbearers were Shonya Hoskins, Angie Brown, Jessie Buffington, Michelle Brown, Terrissa Brown, Marissa Brown and Shannon Brown. Groups from the Advanced Auto Parts, Arnold Motor Supply, family and friends were in attendance.
