Entombment will follow in the Dickinson Mausoleum. Chester Willer was born August 27, 1928 in Gladstone, the son of John G. and Anna (Huth) Willer. He was raised in Gladstone where he attended school. Chet went on to attend St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN. He returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Helen Brost, on May 23, 1950 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gladstone. Chet worked at the Gladstone Elevator for several years, later working for Kovash Construction of Dickinson. He went on to work as manager of Carlson Homes in 1962 and was involved with building and selling countless homes in Dickinson. Chet opened his own Real Estate and Home Building Company, Colony West, and later joined LaDuke & Associates Realtors, becoming part owner and managing broker. Chet served the community by participating on various boards. He served as Stark County Commissioner for twelve years. Chet was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Knights and his family was named Catholic family of the Year in 1990 by the organization. He served in several positions with the local and state home builders and real estate associations, and was appointed to the ND Housing Finance Agency Advisory Board by Governor George Sinner. Other community, civic and church organizations Chet participated in include Booster Clubs of DSU, NDSU and Trinity High School; Benedictine Living Communities, West River Community Center development, and Biesiot Activity Center development. Chet served St. Patrick's Church in numerous capacities. Chet spent countless hours enjoying farming which might explain the time spent on making his yard perfect. He loved to golf and enjoyed hunting, bowling, softball and attending sporting events of his family. Chet is survived by his wife, Helen, his ten children: Bob (Rita Kubas) Willer of Fargo, Dave (Jackie Roshau) Willer of Glendale, AZ, Lorna (Wayne) Sanders of Fargo, Debbie Dobler of Bismarck, Cindy (Bruce) Kary of Dickinson, Tom (Susie Price) Willer of Dickinson, Mary Sue Sutter of Beaverton, OR, Pat (Michelle King) Willer of Prescott Valley, AZ, Jeff (Michele Gab) Willer of Elkhorn, NE, and Lisa Schwindt of Scottsdale, AZ; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elvira Martin of Dickinson, Diana Zedlar of San Jose, CA, and Marci (Gabby) Quilici of Palm Desert, CA; brother, Chuck (Darlene) Willer of Dickinson; and sister-in-law, Doris Willer of Billings, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna; son-in-law, Jay Dobler; brother, Francis Willer; three grandchildren, Chad Wandler, Emily Kary, and Ryan Schwindt; and one grandson-in-law, Kyhaunn Woods. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Benedict's Health Center or Dickinson Catholic Schools.
