Description	:	Chester Wayne Gascho, 78, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the V.A. Medical Center in Grand Island. Chester was born July 5, 1932, in Broken Bow to Arthur and Barbara (Stutzman) Gascho. On April 9, 1954, he married Mary (Lora) Cudaback in Callaway. She preceded him in death. On April 9, 1954, he married Mary (Lora) Cudaback in Callaway. She preceded him in death. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, John and Karen Gascho of Lawton, Okla., Earl and Barb Gascho of Dallas, Don and Lori Gascho of Sabillasville, Md., and Dan and Karen Gascho of Picayune Miss.; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Dan Weller of North Platte, Racheal and Pat Chandler of Anselmo, Debra and Pat Wescoat of Cairo and Laurie and Dennis Zimbelman of Boelus; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Deloris Gascho of Wood River; sisters, Blanch Sims of Wood River and Mary Brundage of Cairo; 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Teri Cudaback of Omaha and ahost of relatives and friends. Chester attended school through eighth grade in Broken Bow and Cairo and received his GED in 1956 while in the Air Force After his marriage, the couple then lived in Puerto Rico, where he was employed by the United States Air Force. They deployed back to the States in 1957 and resided in Lincoln. They moved in 1964 to the Hall County area, where Chester drove a semi-truck for Aluminum Supply Company and then delivered goods to grocery stores through Mid-Nebraska. He moved with his family to Callaway in 1968. Chester worked in Cozad at the Monroe plant, then for the City of Callaway for several years and served as a volunteer on the Callaway Fire/Rescue squad. He was later employed at New Holland in Lexington and then drove a truck for a number of years before retiring. After retirement, he and his wife spent eight years in Portland, Ore., doing mission work with the homeless and Teen Challenge Ministry. They returned to Cairo in 2003. Chester was a member of First Baptist Church of Cairo. He loved the Lord and his family. His greatest wish was for everyone he met to know the love of Jesus. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; infant brother, Willard; grandchild, Chance; and sons-in-law, Thomas Sallee and Gregory Bordenkircher.
