Chizuko Takahashi was born on November 6, 1927 in Hiroshima, Japan. She was raised in Japan and moved to the United States after marrying her husband, Stanley E. Yarolem on July 19, 1951 in Yakohama, Japan. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1971. She then married William Stoltenberg in 1974 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1984. Chizuko Takahashi was born on November 6, 1927 in Hiroshima, Japan. She was raised in Japan and moved to the United States after marrying her husband, Stanley E. Yarolem on July 19, 1951 in Yakohama, Japan. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1971. She then married William Stoltenberg in 1974 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1984. Chizuko had first lived in Missouri, and then they moved to Maquoketa and first lived with Stanley's aunt, Alma Bickford. Chizuko worked various jobs through the years, including, Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, Kozy Inn Cafe in Monmouth, Harry's Restaurant, and Lasty for RonAnn's Floral Shoppe. Chizuko enjoyed knitting sweaters, playing cards especially solitaire and rummy. She was known by her family as an independent women who was a very good cook. Chizuko is servived by; children, Edra & Ed Schmidt of Manchester, Iowa and Scott Yarolem of Baldwin, Iowa; four grandchildren, Carrie, Natasha, Grace & Dalton; three great-grandchildren, Chelby, Cheyanne & Mercedeze, a sister, Yukiko Ishii of Tokyo, Japan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Stanley, and her 2nd. husband William. A public graveside service celebrating Chizuko's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from the Monmouth, Iowa Cemetery. Chaplain / Celebrant Reverend Ruth Ann Scott of Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Makqoketa will officiate. Memorial contribution may be made to the Chizuko Yarolem Stoltenberg Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Carson & Son Funeral & Cremation Services in Maquoketa, where Chizuko's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m..
