He died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at the Ashley Nursing Home. Christ Klipfel, son of George and Christina (Hoffman) Klipfel was born Jan. 31, 1911, five miles southeast of Ashley on the family homestead. He died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at the Ashley Nursing Home. Christ Klipfel, son of George and Christina (Hoffman) Klipfel was born Jan. 31, 1911, five miles southeast of Ashley on the family homestead. This is where he grew up while attending school and working on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Ida Bertsch on March 22, 1936, at Peace Lutheran Church, 10 miles east of Ashley. They rented a farm from Raymond Klipfel southeast of Ashley for one year then moved to a rented farm eight miles northwest of Long Lake for two years. They then moved to the Bertsch family homestead and built their own farm 1/4 mile southwest of the homestead. They were general farmers along with dairy for 42 years. They retired in 1978 from farming and moved into Ashley. He then worked for Ted Maier for many years and at McIntosh County Bank as a maintenance man for several years. He volunteered at the Senior Center and at Zion Lutheran Church helping with the assembly of the church newsletter. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Ashley and the Ashley Senior Citizens. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Klipfel of Minot and Darrell (Rose) Klipfel of Bismarck, three grandchildren, Colin (Michelle) Klipfel, Kim (Mark Melello) Klipfel and Tobias (Sarah) Klipfel and four great-grandchildren, Mara, Paityn, Kade and Saige. His parents, wife and 10 brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Honorary Casketbearers will be Cyrus Pfeifle, Kim Klipfel and Norm Baumgarn. Casketbearers will be Colin Klipfel, Tobias Klipfel, DeLane Bollinger, Roger Klipfel, Delbert Bertsch and Tom Klipfel. The family prefers memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box 128 or Ashley Medical Center, PO Box 450, Ashley, ND 58413.
