As a child he was baptized, instructed and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Notmark church. Read More	Audubon Newspaper - Obituary - March 1932 Chris Thompson was born February 18, 1860 at Almsted on the Island of Als, Denmark and passed away at his home in Audubon March 26, 1932 at the age of 72 years. As a child he was baptized, instructed and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Notmark church. Mr. Thompson came to America in the spring of 1880, coming to Atlantic, working around and near there for 9 years. In the spring of 1889, he was united in marriage to Dorothea Mikkelsen, who lived near Audubon. To this union were born 3 children, one of whom preceded the father in death at the age of 3 months. The Thompson family lived on a farm near Audubon until the fall of 1915, when Mr. and Mrs. Thompson retired from their labors and moved to Audubon, where they had since resided. Mr. Thompson was a thrifty man and everything he tried to do exceptionally well. His home and farm were always well kept, verifying the fact that he was an industrious and careful man. He was a good father and proviced well for his dear ones. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson always believed in helping one another which will be a good memory to cherish at this time by those whom he leaves. He is survived by his widow, one daughter Mrs. William Ebert of Hancock, and one son, Chris Thompson residing on the home place near Audubon. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 P.M. at the Audubon Danish Lutheran Church - the Rev. Marinus Hagedorn officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
